Portico clock in white marble and gilt bronze. The white enameled dial with Arabic numerals for the hours and two winders, signed SCHMIT in Paris, is underlined by a laurel frieze, flanked by curved columns with pearl friezes embellished with medallions and crowned with lyres in bloom. The base is in the shape of a movement, adorned with pearl friezes and gilded bronzes. Louis XVI period. Height: 40 cm; Width: 29.5 cm; Depth: 10 cm. A pair of baluster-shaped cassolettes in white marble and gilt bronze. Height Height: 27 cm. (Damage and missing Wedgwood porcelain medallions). Jean-Nicolas SCHMIT, received the title of Master Watchmaker in Paris in 1781. He supplied Jean-Baptiste FURET ( 1720 -1807 ), the King's clockmaker.
