Chiseled chest ornament representing the softness of Polynesian pirogues. Hardwood carving in the REIMIRO style from Easter Island, usually worn by women. Former Chilean collection. Length: 53cm As everywhere in Polynesia, rei means "neck ornament" and miro means "wood". These crescent-shaped pectorals were fashioned mainly from wood.
