Jacques CAFFIERI (1678-1755), after
Pair of cat and dog andirons in bronze with a double gold and black patina. They are each seated on a drape adorned with passementerie, which rests on a rectangular base embellished with laurel leaves.
On tapered legs with twisted flutes.
Nineteenth-century work in the 18th-century style.

This pair of andirons is inspired by the famous model created by Jacques Caffieri and his son Philippe, the perfect embodiment of the Rococo to Neoclassicism style of the 1770s.
It is one of the versions made following the model delivered to the Prince de Condé in 1773.
