PARIS, 1781-1789 Rare silver cabaret consisting of an openwork oil and vinegar cruet with fluted sheaths and garlands of flowers. The huilier and vinaigrier have lids with twisted gadroons and pomegranate fretel, held by a chain attached to the central element forming an openwork obelisk chased with flowers, friezes of pearls and topped by a sphere; the salverons are formed by friezes of laurel branches (glasses missing). The oval base is encircled by a frieze of pearls and finely chased flowers. Standing on 4 fluted feet. - French work of the 18th century, charge mark: Paris 1781-1789; medium discharge mark, Poinçon de maison commune for PARIS 1787. Goldsmith's hallmark illegible. Weight : 1013,50gr. Height: 28cm Width: 28.5cm (Good condition).
