Jacques GRUBER (1870-1936) Vosges landscape Rare stained glass 20th century French work 54.3 x 55.5 x 0.8cm Jacques GRUBER was a famous stained glass artist of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He first worked for Daum, creating vase decorations for Daum, furniture for Louis Majorelle and book covers for René Wiener. In 1894, he took part in the Lorraine Decorative and Industrial Art Exhibition and exhibited in the Poirel galleries. At the turn of the century, he turned his full attention to stained glass. In particular, he designed stained glass windows for the Meurthe-et-Moselle Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Villa Majorelle and the Villa Bergeret.
