SPAIN, Late 16th century [CARTA EXECUTORIA HIDALGUIA] - Patent of nobility issued by the House of OJEDA to Andres de Cantabrana. In - 4 (284 x 198 mm.) Manuscript on vellum (22 leaves), decorated with a full-page illumination with the coat of arms of the House of OJEDA, depicting the hand of Saint George slaying the dragon. Includes: 15 headpieces and a beautiful introductory lettering, all in black ink. Dated June 21, 1595, initialed on each leaf and signed at the end by the various protagonists. (Numerous wet spots, folds and traces of wear, as is).
